Barouge
Opened in 2011 in a former industrial site, Barouge is a nightclub with a futuristic design inspired by the sets of Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. Arches and platforms with curved, illuminated profiles change color, dynamically transforming the atmosphere. At the far end of the venue, the DJ booth is framed by a large circular screen projecting images of outer space, recreating the effect of an interstellar porthole. The bar counter, inspired by the architecture of New York’s Guggenheim Museum, completes this immersive journey through technology and design.
Born in 2011 within an industrial space in Saronno, Barouge presents a futuristic interpretation of a nightlife venue, merging innovative technical solutions with a visionary aesthetic. Inspired by the set design of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, the project transports guests into an immersive environment in constant flux.
The arches and platforms, defined by their curved and illuminated profiles, are programmed to change color, lending the venue a dynamic, ever-evolving appearance. This visual fluidity creates a unique sensory experience where light and space intertwine in a play of perceptions.
At the center of the scene, a raised platform hosts the DJ console, positioned in front of a huge circular screen that projects images of outer space, evoking the view from a porthole on an interstellar spacecraft. This scenic element heightens the venue’s futuristic atmosphere, transforming it into an all-encompassing visual and sonic experience.
Another standout feature is the bar counter, whose design draws inspiration from the architectural forms of New York’s Guggenheim Museum. Its fluid, enveloping structure becomes a visual focal point, perfectly aligned with the venue’s innovative aesthetic.
By blending technology, design, and avant-garde scenography, Barouge redefines the concept of nightlife, offering an experience that transcends time and space.
